Innovative options that ensure your success
WIRTGEN GROUP Options
State-of-the-art solutions from VÖGELE and HAMM provide the support you need to overcome every challenge on your construction site. – from absolute longitudinal evenness and clean air in the working environment to perfect edge control and optimal compaction.
Whether on large-scale projects, construction jobs through the night or demanding edge zones: our systems and options ensure consistently high paving quality, noticeable relief for operating personnel and maximum cost-efficiency.
On racetracks, main roads or motorways The Big MultiPlex Ski from VÖGELE is the ideal solution in all situations where longitudinal evenness is essential and no absolute height profile is available as a reference.
The Big MultiPlex Ski works with three multi-cell sonic sensors as standard and, if required, with a total of up to five sensors. These are mounted on a variable carrier beam with a length of five to 13 metres and simultaneously scan several reference points as the machine advances.
The advantage: Irregularities are now no longer detected and compensated locally, but over a long measuring distance.
The threshold limit values for bitumen vapours and aerosols in the processing of hot-mixed asphalt (HMA) have been the focus of occupational safety and health considerations for years. The ventilation system from VÖGELE is a field-proven and practical solution that significantly reduces the burden on operating personnel.
The ventilation system takes up the vapours and aerosols through intake ducts located directly at the discharge point of the conveyor – exactly where they originate. The suction power required for this is generated by a specially designed radial fan installed in a protected location inside the machine.
The vapours and aerosols extracted by the system are led away from the operating crew’s workspace and discharged via an exhaust air pipe behind the operator’s platform. Accordingly, the exhaust air is mixed with fresh air above the canopy of the paver and safely discharged. The result of this is significantly reduced exposure of the paver and screed operators to potentially harmful emissions. On Universal Class and Highway Class pavers, the exhaust air pipe folds down together with the canopy for transport.
The system was developed together with the machines and seamlessly integrated into their design. As a result of the placement of the ventilator inside the machine, the overall noise level remain unchanged.
With the Logistic Plus racks, all components of the spreading auger and the paving screed, complete with all accessories and mounting materials can be tidily stowed and safely transported to the construction site. This VÖGELE solution for the Dash 5 pavers thus shortens setup times, improves logistics and prevents errors.
A Logistic Plus rack is available for extending the AB 500 and AB 600 screeds. The complete 0.75 m extension kit can be stored in it. Two Logistic Plus racks are available for auger extension – one each for the left and right attachment sides. They can accommodate the 0.25 m, 0.65 m and 1 m extension kits for the SUPER 1800-5, SUPER 1900-5 and SUPER 2100-5 pavers. This ensures that the extension sets are always within easy reach on the construction site.
If a milled edge or a kerb is present, Edge Detection can use it as a precise reference for width control of the screed. A laser sensor mounted on the side plate reliably detects ascending or descending edges with a profile of at least 2 centimetres within a measuring range of 70°. It does not matter whether the edge is located inside or outside the side plate – the system will follow it automatically with highest precision.
With AutoTrac, users enjoy the benefits of fully-integrated, automated control of essential paver functions:
Automatic screed width control is achieved with the aid of Edge Control, edge tracking with Edge Detection and the fixed screed width setting. Users can also steer the paver automatically with the automatic steering control system. The operating personnel enjoy a considerably reduced workload in addition to consistently high, paving quality and higher precision.

Padfoot shells significantly expand the range of possible applications for compactors with smooth drums. They enable efficient compaction of cohesive and mixed soils and are an ideal choice for use in cold recycling applications.
By increasing the effective rolling surface, cohesive material is loosened more quickly and can dry out faster. The result is improved compaction performance, even in difficult soil conditions.
The special pattern of the padfoot shells ensures easy handling and increases ride comfort – also on longer jobs.
The original HAMM lighting systems ensure safe operation of rollers, even on construction sites at night and in difficult lighting conditions. They ensure ideal illumination of the working environment and simultaneously increase occupational safety.
In addition to classic work lighting, the HAMM lighting portfolio also includes:
HAMM drum lights specifically and evenly illuminate the entire working area to enable precise working, even in the dark.
Edge pressing and cutting devices from HAMM ensure high quality paved asphalt edges, perfectly sealed longitudinal joints and precise refinishing. This plays a decisive role in assuring the quality and long-term durability of the asphalt surface.
From versatile applications and sophisticated technology:
Edge pressing device
For the production of perfectly sealed longitudinal joints, scarping and compaction of contact surfaces. Reliably prevents penetration of water, dirt and roots.
Edge cutting device
For precise cutting of asphalt that is still warm in the event of incorrect paving or correction work.
Track indicator
For easier alignment of the compaction pass line.
Water sprinkling
For the prevention of bitumen adhesions.
DV+/HX series
Separate sprinkling of the edge pressing and cutting device, independent of the drum sprinkling system
HAMM offers a wide range of options for HP series pneumatic-tyre rollers to ensure that every machine is ideally equipped to fulfil the requirements of all markets and applications. Thermal aprons are an established classic amongst these options. They reduce heat losses and ensure a longer processing window for the asphalt mix.
Uniform compaction and high-quality surfaces are also possible in changeable weather conditions, as the thermal aprons ensure uniform temperature conditions in the working area.
