Carbide recycling
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in all industry sectors, as it makes a decisive contribution to the protection of natural resources and to safeguarding an environment conducive to human life and the world of nature. Recycling carbide-tipped tools can reduce the amount of scrap produced and return valuable resources to the economic cycle.
Carbide-tipped tools are indispensable, particularly for road milling machines, stabilisers and surface miners. But what happens when they reach the end of their service life? Many end up as scrap metal, even though they contain valuable recyclable materials such as carbide.
The WIRTGEN GROUP directly buys back used carbide tipped cutting tools and reclaims the valuable material in a resource-efficient recycling process. We make use of a patented recycling process developed by our system partner BETEK that enables the reclamation of valuable carbide resources and their return to the economic cycle.
